Zero waste caramelised apple toast

Today, we’re tackling food waste, one apple at a time! Most of us have that one 'sad' apple left in the fruit bowl for a little too long. Instead of tossing it, I’m going to show you a delicious way to give it a second life!

Vegan, soy free, refined sugar free | Serves 1 | BREAKFAST

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple
  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
  • A Pinch of cinnamon

Serve with:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 tablespoons of peanut butter
  • Maple syrup
  • Some cacao nibs (optional)

Steps:

1.Peel and cut the apple in small pieces.

2.Put it in a saucepan, along with the maple syrup and cinnamon and cook on medium heat for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3.Toast the bread and spread the peanut butter on top.

4.Add the caramelised apples on top, drizzle some maple syrup and sprinkle some cacao nibs.

Enjoy!

Notes:

*These will be nice on top of your porridge, pancakes or a yogurt bowl with granola.
