Feeling under the weather? I was completely knocked out by the flu. So, I decided to share the exact routine I followed for two days to feel better.
My 2-Day Recovery Plan
I started by giving myself a break from my morning run to get an extra hour of sleep. I also used a neti pot to rinse my nose every morning and before bed, which significantly helped with clearing congestion.
Next, I prepared a few hot brews, starting with a powerful garlic and lemon immunity tonic that I found in a natural healing handbook. It was super easy to make:
- I grated a garlic clove and let it steep in hot water for 5 minutes.
- Then, I added the juice of one lemon, strained it, added some maple syrup, and enjoyed!
Nourishing My Body
I also made sure to nourish my body with some wholesome foods. My day started with a warm bowl of porridge, followed by anise tea, which is known for its ability to help clear phlegm and provide relief from coughs and cold symptoms.
For lunch, I had a nourishing lentil and bulgur salad with tofu and a tahini dressing. Afterward, I sipped on some elderflower tea, which is known to be anti-inflammatory and helps reduce congestion and sinus pressure.
And for dinner, I had a comforting turmeric orzotto with mushrooms, spinach, and cauliflower, a hearty and warm meal to end the day.
